starting with the simple stuff and I can't even figure that out. Don't know how I am ever going to add more complex things to this controller.
I got my lights hooked up, but they aren't coming on automatically. I used the light wizard programming. ON 9:00, OFF 20:00, Temp off at 82, hysteresis 30:00.
If i manually turn them on then back to auto they stay on. If I change the hysteresis to something like 1:00 they come on. My temp is sitting at 77.5 and has been all day so it never saw an over temp cond. to turn them off.
If I do the advanced programming and take out the overtemp condition everything comes on as normal.
Could someone please explain why my over temp cond and hysteresis settings would be causing the lights not to come on? It was my understanding if an overtemp condition occured the lights would stay off for 30 mins. But no over temp occured and the lights won't come on??

Hmmm, make sure the time is correct, and do you have Fallback set to off?

Oh and make sure you have the correct probe name in there for the Temp probe name, that messed me up in the past

Time is correct and fall back is off. Like stated if I take out the temp condition they come on exactly as they should. If I set hysteresis really low they come on as they should.
I think my lights ended up actually coming on 30mins later than they should. We'll see what happens tomorrow morning. Maybe its just a fluke on the first day.

Most MH lights work just fine with just 10 mins hysteresis. The way that they should work is that they should come on as scheduled and the hysteresis should only impact things if the power goes out. If you turn it to manual on, then manual off, then back to manual on, it should wait 10 minutes before coming on. Is this not the behavior that you're seeing? Can you paste in your code?

That makes sense now. I left the hysteresis at 30 min because that came up default. I powered up the Apex and tried to program my lighting to come on right away. But they wouldn't. Then changing the hysteresis to a smaller value allowed them to come on. I guess I was a little foggy on the hysteresis and how it worked.
All came on as it should this morning. Probably going to move the heater over today and make sure all is well with that.
Thanks for the help everyone, and I'm sure I'll be back for more questions later.
