Well if you can determine where the bubbles are coming from it should be pretty easy to help you solve how to get rid of them. Usually there from a skimmer not properly trapping it's bubbles and slowly overflowing them into the tank.

bubbles on the sand might indicate cyanobacteria...

do you have a bubble trap in the sump?

yeah, i've had these bubbles since i started though. i got the sand with the tank and was told the sand came from menards, i'm thinking its not the right type of sand and that is causing them as well. i dont think its the playsand everyone wants.

My bubbles have been there BEFORE i got the skimmer. They are shooting out of the....the...the....black tubes that the water from the pump comes from. What are they called? Sand is crushed coral, from Adam's.

    What is cyanobacteria... ?

Sounds like I don't have a bubble trap.

Are you running a sump or a hang on back skimmer?

sounds like your pump may be getting some air in it. what kind of pump is it?

Black tube(s) are called the return(s).
Effect of the water crashing into the sump and creating turbulance is what creates the micro-bubbles.
Bubble traps, filter socks, filter sponges all work to minimize the bubbles.

Do what this guys says. Bubble trap and/or a filter sock on the return into your sump.

Make sure your water level is hight enough in your sump so that your return pump doesn't suck in any air.
