I did some tank cleaning today and decided to clean my MH lenses.  I'd only been cleaning the side that faces the water for the last couple of months.  Let me tell you how massive of a mistake that was.  The inside of the lenses had a nice film on dust/salt/gunk on them.  I cleaned that garbage off and my tank looks twice as bright now.  Pretty happy and annoyed at myself all at the same time /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/tongue.gif Duh!

Next time just take the lense off, put it in a basin of CLR for 5 mins, rinse and DRY and AIR DRY for a couple of hours.
The lense has to be completely dry or it can blow your bulbs.
