I see that maxijets now ship with the propeller mod included, but just about all the reviews I've read online mention that they are very noisy. Anyone have any direct experience with these?
    Thanks,

my maxi jet is the loudest thing in my tank. I do not care for it at all because of this.

They are complete junk! We have had a ton of them go bad at the shop. They leak stray voltage into tanks, not only that, they never start themselves after you unplug them and burn up. JUNK!

I read a number of comments saying they did not restart properly. Maybe I'll start buying some used MJs just to have some back ups.

ditto all above. Especially as a 'utility pump' the moment you put head pressure on them they chatter real bad. I use the propeller mod to stir up my salt water, and it works well for that, but otherwise is junk. It seems to move the water in high velocity-low volume, not high volume, low velocity, and just made a mess of my tank. stay away, unless you are stirring salt.

Wow, MJ used to be the bulletproof powerhead. Looks like another formerly great product has fallen victim to the profit margin gods.
