Today was not my day for the raffle. At the Marine Geek booth, they were giving away probably 50 corals and a very nice tank setup with LEDs, filter, stand, etc. I had ticket 1177. Ticket 1175 won a frag, 1176 won the grand prize, and 1178 won a frag. Wow. Then at the ReefBall workshop, they were giving away a JBJ 14g Nano with stand and a pair of Flame Wrasses (all to one person). Missed it by one number again. I've never missed it by 1 number so many times. Sucked. You can't win them all.

That being said, it was a very nice show and I got to attend more speakers than I ever have at any single show in the past. Drs Foster and Smith gave every attendee a $20 gift certificate in the welcome bag. The ReefBall workshop was very informative and I got 3 nice corals as a part of it. Ticket validation and banding was done by a local boy scout troop (nice idea) and there was probably 600 people in attendance. Food was handled by the hotel and was reasonably priced. They had a very spacious hall so there was plenty of room for everyone. Everyone was very nice and prices were reasonable. And amazingly enough, the entire show was put together in just 6 months. All in all, very nicely done. These guys could do a bang up job if they ever bid for a MACNA!
