I ran out of magnesium over the weekend and can't seem to find any at the LFS. So my question is there a way to make your own magnesium. I thought there was something on RC about it but I can't seem to find it.
So if any body knows what I would need could you please list it for me thanks.

    epsom salts?
Actually, there are a few options, it just depends on how you dose for calcium.
Just epson salts will work if you use them in small amounts and do large water changes. I beleive this is because you get a buildup of sulphate, which can;t be good for anything.
I use 7 1/4 cups of magnesium chloride to 3/4 cup of epson salts, which is randy's old recipe, i think now they suggest a 5:3 cup ratio.
