For anyone out there that is like me, completely disappointed with the orange lids that Home Depot switched to (the manufacturer, Leaktite, actually) about a year or so ago, your troubles are OVER!!

Lowe's now carries a food-grade white bucket and lid, but the white lid also fits the orange HD bucket and it is TOUGH. I think it's actually tougher than the old orange ones, which I have been hoarding over the years.

The new HD ones bust when you push down on them in the center and the lip rips out the first time you pull them off. Suck my a$$ leaktite.

Funny how something like "Lids" get reefers pumped ! I was at Home Depot and Menards recently looking for buckets but the lids totally sucked...I was so pissed, I didn't get anything. So...got to get to Lowes haha

Menards has the screw on type. Have you used them? They are like 8 dollars a lid!

I'm not going to spend $8 for a lid !!

Just in case anyone is curious, have only looked at Lowe's in WDM, the one by Jordan Creek Mall does not seem to carry the white lids & buckets.

The one on 50th St does. I bought a few buckets to try them out and they are beyond awesome - thick, sturdy and food grade, BPA free, and not really that expensive. The lids go on and stay on, I have had full buckets fall over in the back of my Jeep several times and not a drop spilled. When you take the lids off, they don't rip like any version of the ones at Home Depot do (even the older, better ones).

5 star rating on this bad @%^ buckets and lids.

I now have 20 of them.
