   I just put in a sump. I have a 75 gallon with a 15 gallon sump. I am using a rio 2500 to push the water back into my tank. It is pretty loud. Is there any way to quiet it down?

   What kind of noise is it? Pump rattle can be muted a bit if you put something under it to absorb the vibration. If its the gurgle you get from the drain a durso standpipe will help with that.

   Thanks for the info, but that thing is WAY to big. My over flow, hangs over the back of my tank, is not a built in. Any other suggestions? Or a way I could modify the Durso Standpipe.

   You can build DIY standpipes that work in ProClear overflows. I used to have a ProClear overflow and I did that. It worked great.
