Looking for a skimmer

    Im still a FNG to this saltwater stuff but i beginng to read about and thinking i might want a skimmer.  i have a 112 hexagonal flatback mixed reef and fish.  im runing a refugium in the big compartment and that is it.  just looking for some insite and maybe one to buy.  let me know your input and maybe what you have for a good deal.[​IMG]

    I would say that your next most important purchase should be a skimmer. I guess very frequent water changes can help you avoid that, but you'll pay for it either way.

    Yeah i don't have problems with water quaility at all but im getting more fish and thought about maybe just being on the safe side and putting one in. i might need help on where to locate it also.

    No one has a skimmer for sale.

    I have a Marineland's Marine Pro 300 that I ran on my 125g mixed reef:

    I switched to an H&S A150 when I decided to get a larger tank dominated with SPS. It was a good skimmer but it is extremely touchy with the water level. If you don't have an ATO sytem or a baffle in the sump that keeps the skimmer at an even level then I would look for something else.

    i think i might need a hanging one. not quite sure though. not a ton of room in my sump. i might get some insite from the tank tour this weekend. if they say i got room then i might get back to you blackx.
