light question

    I was looking at a regular light from a fresh water set up last night and i took it apart and was wondering if anyone new if the litle ballast inside would power a t5?????? thanks for any comments

    Nope, the one in your light is more than likely a non-electronic ballast that needs a starter. It just a completely different technology than the t5 ballasts.

    Figured and yes has a starter just thgt it was at least worth asking thanks

    You can buy a ballast from lowes or home depot that will power a t5 and just wire it to that light
