Iowa City Tank Tour hosts/stops sign up

    It's time for you Iowa City folk to show us your tanks.
    Please use this thread to sign your tank up to be on the tour.
    Tour date:  April 18th, 2009 12:00PM - 5:00PM
    I really want this to go well, with the majority of area members in the Cedar Rapids area I would really like to get at least 4 hosts for this, to make the drive worth it for those that have to drive.
    So please don't be shy, let's see those babies (Not literally Fawn!, I hope you get a chance to participate with the upcoming baby).
    Also, I think we will start with a stop at "Sea of Marvels" in North Liberty from 12PM till 12:30 (if you need more time then this please show up at Hung's earlier then 12).
    NOTE:  The GIRS tank tours are members only events and the tour schedules are posted in the members only forums, however, we do allow a one time pass to potential members to see the benefits of being a paid member.  So if you are not a paying member and have not used your one-time pass yet.  Please PM me if you would like to use your one-time pass to participate in this event.
    Anyone, hope to see many of you in IC on the 18th.

    Possibly, how far is winfield from Iowa City and in what direction from Iowa City?

    Me!!! I had my baby 2 weeks early just so we could be a stop, lol! Seriously though, I had baby this past Monday and would love to be a stop. We're in Riverside......there's a big tank out in Wellman and I wonder if he's seen this thread or not? I'll email him and see if he could be a stop. There is a SW tank at the casino here too, not too sure how exciting it is. I think it's a FOWLR......

    Well if Fawn's a stop now, I'm thinking Rick should be one also since it's only 15 minutes or so from Fawn's down the Highway.

    Congrats Fawn! I'd like to be a stop too since I'm close to Rick, but my wife hasn't popped yet and I can't go on the tour since it's so close to the due date, but I can go to Rick's. I just can't leave town.

    I would love to go along, my brother will probably come with me as well. Are there going to be any stops in ic? Also I was wondering if there is going to be a stop where we can get food. I love grilling out and wouldn't mind if it was here but I don't know how my house location is in relationship to everything else.
    Anyways regardless of how it pans out I am in.

    We should be careful about how this is structured since some of the stops could quite a ways apart from the other. For example, if we stopped in Williamsburg,Riverside, Winfield, Muscatine, Iowa City and finally North Liberty, by the time I got home, I will have driven about 215 miles and assuming just 15 minutes per tank, it would have taken 6 1/2 hours. I would love to see them all, but if we make this too big and time consuming, we will have fewer people that will be able to participate. I'm not trying to be negative or a wet blanket, but just making sure that we give that a bit of thought before finalizing the schedule.

    My thoughts exactly. I say we hit as many tanks as we can in the smallest radius possible. My feelings will not be hurt if my place is out. Actually that means I don't have to clean. I am just looking for new ideas for the new set up I am working on and would like to meet some new fish nerds.

    So could you all please send me your information Full name, address, and phone number so I can start putting the route together.

    Also, I didn't realize that Hung didn't open till so late so we are going to start farther away and work our way back to toward Cedar Rapids and make Hung the last stop, which with 3 stops should be about 3:30ish I am thinking.

    I didn't actually see a spot where you signed up dzabler, however, if you would like we probably can.
    Where are you in the area?

    I am currently a stop on the tour, but will have to bow out. I will be having hernia surgery on Wednesday, therefore won't be up to hosting or travelling. Sorry for the late notice.

    K, now we are back down to 2, I want this tour to happen, but I just don't see how it will work with only 2 tanks on board.

    Those of you who are question marks please sign in and let me know if you are interested.
