ID this little guy

    I am pretty positive it is a stomatella but just want to make sure before he goes back in.  Kind of looks like he is carrying eggs on the back portion of his body(not the shell)

    It's a little hard to tell from that picture. The have shell just over the top, kind of like a false fingernail. They look like a snail when they are on the glass with their foot toward you. They move really fast, for a snail. The shell isn't completely hard either. Strange animals, but very good to have.

    Agree. The shell on yours is cool...nice coloration/markings. Most of the ones that I have in my tank have solid colored shells.

    I found another one shortly after putting him back into the tank. This is the first time I have seen any of these guys in my tank so I was a little worried at first.

    Looks like a stomatella to me. They come out at night are about an inch or so long at the biggest, have long "antenae" and move fast for a snail. Their shell looks like a fake fingernail glued onto a slug /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif
