I have been needing new bulbs for a while now but didnt want to spend the money knowing I am getting new lights.  As it turns out i went to turn my lights on today and bulbs are burned out and I wont be getting my new lights till tuesday.  Should I be worried or will things be ok for a few days?

I've never gone more than 2 days. What kind of bulbs do you need? Maybe someone has some you can use for a short time until your new ones show up.

They are 14k 150w DE halides. I have done some reading and everything points to things being fine. Still makes me nervous

I have gone a few days with no tank lights and everything was fine, Not that I have alot of coral. I do get quite a bit of natural light from a sliding glass door though

its not always sunny on the reef /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif sometimes i think its good to give a tank a break from the lights. jmo though.

sounds like bulbs burning out is not the problem, did 1 or more go out?

sean the bulbs were over a yr old. I only hadnt replaced them because I was getting a new one which I picked up lastnight. I put bulbs in it from my newer light and they fired fine.
