How did you hear about GIRS?

I heard of Girs from a guy passing threw town buying a biocube. 2 yrs ago.

 

I was looking for pet stores in IA and this came up

 

Armydog told me about it

 

I either saw it on a flier a group or my lfs.

 

I heard about GIRS from AC&C. (I miss that place!)

 

I saw a flyer at our local pet store

 

I was complaining to a fellow reefer several years ago about a lack of good local clubs. I was told to give this one a try. My biggest problem is that most people on this board are DesMoines and east of it. I did get a chance to start going to the last couple of frag fests. The people there are all nice and curtious.

 

The lady at the lfs in Keokuk gave me a flyer on the club.

 

Yes, That is the correct lfs. It's the only one left in Keokuk that I know of.

 

I met Bronson this week of Bronson's Fish, Coral, and More store and he mentioned his store was going to house the saltwater show next month being put on by GIRS and I was invited to attend. He encouraged me to get involved with the group since I am so brand new to the hobby and I could learn so much from all of you veterans. And I sure am! So glad I found this group! Everytime I think im ready to finally start putting water in for my SW tank and get it rolling, i learn something else that I should probably take care of first and most likely spend money on lol. But I would rather do it now even though I'm getting pretty restless, than lose whatever progress I might have started to gain.

Huh, somehow I missed this thread.

I believe I found GIRS through posting some equipment for sale on CL. Someone interested in purchasing a light fixture asked me if I was on GIRS. Had no idea what it was...joined the next day.

 

I didn't have to dig too deep. The thread was right at the top of the Introduction forum. I was kind of surprised that no one had replied to it in almost 2 years.

 

There's a couple areas on this forum that are basically unused rooms in a large mansion. Once in a while you walk through a door and think "Hmm, haven't been in this room for a while"
