  1. well my wife bought her first fish yesterday, ( royal garamma) and i got a mandrin goby from AC&C and the goby is active and eating in the tank as of this morning but the garamma is no where to be found. we didnt see him after acclimation and addition to the tank last night either. checked the floor and filter and sump. ? no fish! any ideas ? will they hide for some time or ? andrew said it was the 4 th time he had been in that tank to net a fish yesterday.

the wife was pannicing so i thought i would ask the masses who have ever owned a garamma, as i couldnt find anything doing some research.

Yes, the royal gramma likes to hide. They will hide under your live rock and in holes in the rock. Some are more timid than others and the slightest movement in the room can send them into hiding. They also can be jumpers - so be sure you have a covering on the tank as well.

Ya just give him a few days, they are notorious about being shy until comfortable in their new home.

I didn't see mine for two weeks after I got her. I wouldn't worry about her. Just keep an eye out and give her some time.

Royal Gramma's are pretty shy and like to hide in the holes in the rock. They will be especially shy if there are agressive fish (clowns, damsels, etc.). I wouldn't worry too much. After a few days he may come out to eat.
