    Hi again everyone.
I am a complete newbie when it comes to aquarium lights and electronics in general so hopefully you guys can help.
I bought some JBJ PCs online that were supposed to be new, but I can tell they are used.  Not a big problem, the price was right.  The question I have is about the cooling fans.  It has cooling fans, but they never come on.  I don't have my aquarium set up yet so the lights have only been on a couple hours, but no fans.  Should the fans be running the whole time the lights are on?  is it bad to run it without a fan?
thanks a lot for any help!

I don't believe they are supposed to run all the time. It's only PC lighting so I don't think it's going to put too much heat into your tank anyhow. Your ambient room temperature would probably play a larger role than your lights would on a 20 gallon.

If you need a new fan, find out what size and voltage it is (w/a volt meter, if you have one or remove the fan and see what the label says on it) and get another from Radio Shack or somewhere simiilar, I have done that with another fixture, worked great and quieter than the original fan in my case it was a 120V fan.
