Help ID please!!

    This fish is in the tank I maintain that was on the tour today.  Joe told me it is a Lizard fish, the closest I can pin it down to is a Sand Diver Lizard Fish, but it just doesn't look quite the same.  Here's a google search, look at the pictures on this:

    Anyone?
    The markings and shape are not the same as the lizard fish.  So I think it's something else.  But can't nail it down.

    Does it dig burrows?  To me it looks like it could be some type of jawfish.  Possibly a banded (Opistognathus macrognathus).

    If you saw it with its mouth open, you'd know it's no blenny.

    OK...kinda hard to tell from the pics. It looked similar to the blemmy.

    It is a jawfish

    Spotted jawfish. We have one at the store right now. Pretty fish for lack of color
