Has anyone tried the Marineland lights other than in the hotel?

I was the second person to light up our room with the MArineland LED's and was fairly impressed with how they lit up the room.
I decided to see what they looked like on my BC29 tonight and now my tank looks like all the frag tanks you see at swaps.
I'm one of those people who are still on the fence about using LED's over over metal halides but I do kind of like what the blues do to my corals.
I couldn't really get them to attach right inside my tank so I ended up just sticking them to the Bio Cube's plastic light cover.  They are submerged somewhat so you can see them  inside the tank but they are pretty impressive.

Yeah I had mine in my 40 gallon frag tank on Sat night! I've seen my buddies LED system over his 220 and I'm soooo jonesing for a whole LED system for my 120!!!! I mean , short term, long term, the results have been remarkable, and this only makes it worse. I have a feeling I'm going to drop another 800 bucks in the next couple weeks!!!

If I mount it up in the top center of my canopy, it makes a perfect moonlight for my 125. It's way too bright if I put it by the water though...

I got two and put them on my 120. They were easy to attach to my aluminum light rack and did make a nice difference. I've had a rock anemone that I got from Cherry Corals over a year ago. At the show, it was lemon yellow...absolutely gorgeous, and that unusual yellow color came with a high price. I get it home and put it in my tank, and it's green under my lights. I've been a bit disappointed with the color of it ever since, until now. When my tank is lit with just these LEDs, it's yellow again! Great little fixtures, and to get them free, bonus!

Too bright for my little biocube as a moonlight. Not sure they are strong enough to grow anything either. I am sure they look fantastic on a bigger tank.

Not sure what to do with them and a little nervous to submerge them..........are they mainly for *looks* being blue LED's or would they actually be useful to grow/maintain coral (in a smaller tank)? Sorry, I am totally out of the loop re: LED's and I missed Sanjays talk, although I do have his article yet to read in the new Coral magazine /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

The marineland leds are spec'd to 460nm, thus it will activate mostly chlorophyll b, and some a chloroplasts. It will also activate UV shielding proteins (good colors).
