Has anyone ever mounted lighting for the end of their tank?

    After nearly losing a coral to poor lighting on the end of my tank I started wondering about this. With a 72" fixture, the halides don't really cover all the way to the ends of the tank.
    Has anyone installed supplemental lighting in a case like this?

    i think Coralife has a fixture that clips onto the side of your tank.

    Holy crap. They're expensive for just a single bulb!

    What light do you currently have? Why not just put more light demanding corals to closer to the light?

    Not only that, it would save you quite a bit of cash, what kind of corals did you loose because of lighting?  IMO it takes a VERY long time for coral to actually die because of poor light.  I have corals fall behind or underneath my rock work and were in near complete darkness for long periods of time, sure they looked like crap but they are usually never totally goners.

    I didn't lose them, but I had some zoos that quit opening and were shrinking. I moved them to some better light and they are thriving again.
