halide question

    If I upgraded from 150w to 250w halides, would I be able to get by acclimating the tank by raising the bulb height 8 inches to start?  Or would I have to do more, such as the multiple screen method, taking a layer off every few days.

    Yes, or you can just reduce your photoperiod a few hours a day.

    +1 you could also put a layer or two of screen between the tank and light.
