    What are good ways to control hair algae?

    I put a lawnmower blenny in mine, and he went biserk. But I also wanted one. Within a couple weeks he was fat and had everything finally trimmed back to the rock.

    Yeah having a good clean-up crew is critical to the balance of the system, and having an herbivore like a blenny or a tang sure can help as well. Just like SMH I also advocate the algae scrubber not only because I make them but because they work and save $ over time. But there is definitely more than one way to skin a cat on this particular problem...
