Power just went off at 3pm. I'm glad I bought a 15000 watt generator for my house. Its enough to run my 125,90,75 and 29. The only issue is we live in bfe and it may be 2-3 days before th 10 foot drifts get removed. Only have 15 gallons gas. Told my wife she might have to siphon gas from my truck.

Good luck. Got any buddies with a snowmobile and a gas can?

We should be fine for gas. 15 gallons in the cans and between my truck and my wifes Expedition another 40. Hopefully it starts I'll give it another hour then go check.

Our power was out for 6 hours and I was freaking out. Actually ran an ac/dc converter out to our van to run the heater and pump in my nano. A generator is now on the top of my wish list.

I bought ours last summer when the power went out with all those winds last July. It happened at 6 am I called around and finally found one in Waterloo and bought it over the phone. Paid 1500 for it and we were without power for days. My insurance company reimbursed me for the full amount and let me keep it. They figured I would need it again.

FEMA bought mine after hurricane Wilma (thanks Browney). I sold it in a garage sale when we moved to Iowa for $100. I haven't had a need for it, but when I do, I will seriously be kicking myself.

We have been without power since 2am and they say it could be out for a day or two. but the good news is I bought a 7000w generator this morning and hooked it up so my whole tank system and furnace is running

Luckily no power outage here, but I should really look into a generator.

Our power is still out. Everything is running on generator now and glad we converted it last year from gas to natural gas. No more filling in the middle of the night. No idea how long it will be before power is back.........

What size generator do folks typically recommend? I'd want to run the furnace, 180 tank, and couple odds/ends maybe...I've been thinking about this for a couple years and keep putting it on the back burner. Our power flickered a couple times but never went off.
