I am thinking of making a road trip to the GA Aquarium, maybe in April.

Leave 7am on a Friday, drive straight through.

Saturday, all day at Aquarium, 9am-6pm.

    Sunday, drive straight through home.

Minivan & gas cost would be roughly about $100 a person (6 to a van)

    2 nights hotel

    Aquarium admission

Your own food whatever you want to buy.

Drive time from CR is about 14 hours each way. Could drive a couple hours Sat evening if that was the consensus.

    Anyone game?

How is this compared to the Shedd in Chicago. Is it bigger?

Too bad it wasn't in July. I am just north of Atlanta for work (just flew in tonight) and while I can't get to the aquarium while I am here (they close at 5pm), I will be back in 6 months. I guess I will have to do my own private visit then since my company pays for my travel and I would just tack on an extra day to the trip for a minimal cost.

No comparison to the Shed. The Georgia Aquarium is the best aquarium in the world. My family and I were there last summer and spent over 2 hours watching the Whale Sharks alone. It can be done in 1 day but 2 would be better. If done in 1 day just get there at opening and stay until close!
