I have been seeing a lot of threads on here regarding LED lights.  So who is running full LED?  Which brand and model do you have?  Most importantly, do you have any pics to share? [IMG]

I'm running a custom LED fixture over my 12gal Nano and soon to be 28 gal Biocube, and with 7 Leds the thing works awesome and have awesome color.  Growth is awesome on the light to, it produces very little heat.  I can get some pictures up in the next couple days.

Yes sir. I have 2 blastos now. They are my current favorite. Have some rearranging to do in the tank. Maybe sometime this week.

Thank you slovan. It looks so much better in person though. A few of my acans have started to change colors in the last month or so. I am running mainly lps but am having issues
getting my nitrates to stay up. And my fish keep dieing.

I wish I could keep my nitrates down! I have a heavy hand when it comes to feeding which is my biggest problem all my corals look good and my fish are fat so I'm not complaining at all.

I sort of wish I would have gone with LED's on my BC29 but at the time they weren't that common and I knew what to expect from MH's.

I have the Aqua Illumination LEDs.   I love the lights but dislike the mounting system design they have.  i have already had 2 lights literally fall into the water because of the way they mount into the rail.

So what happened when they dropped in. That's a lot of money to have sink into the water.

Were you using the legs or did you use the hanging system?

Thanks for sharing the pictures! From what I've read, hanging the lights 12"-14" above the water is the way to go. The spotlight effect should go away and you shouldn't be knocking your modules into the water anymore. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif

You are right, the mounting system for the modules could be better. I also wish there was a cleaner way to hide the cables. Too bad you can't hide them in the rails and have only 1 or 2 plugjns coming from the unit.

Mary, could you post some pics of the lights themselves? I won't get mine for a couple of weeks, so I'd like to see what people are doing with them.

Actually Slovan, the mounting system is simply a cable connected to each end of the rail ... or at least that is what i have seen. As such it would simply mean the lights would go KERPLOP! when they fall. The problem is the screws are simply machine screws that screw in to the light and then slide into the rail. Since i don't move my lights i am assuming the fan vibration over time is what loosened the screws. There really is no way to even zip tie them to the rails the only alternative i can think of is to glue the screws in.....

Would Lock Tite help? That's kind of a big deal.

What happened to the lights when they fell in? Did they burn up or still work after that?

Here are pics of the lights on the tank   Oh and i agree the lights are too close to the water/tank.  i suggested to AI that they increase the leg length.

no the lights did not work after falling in and i have just sent them in to be repaired.

Loctite would be a permanent solution .. maybe a little too permanent.. and what if i leaked into the light? Maybe a screw with a lock washer of some type?

So did they warranty them? Hopefully, they will have a solution to that problem soon. That's an expensive problem! Thanks for the pics. I think I'm not going to use the legs but hang it from the cable. Either way, the screws coming loose would be a problem.

Couild the rail be drilled through to tighten the screw to the light?
