New gyre for sale. I bought two but I think I really only need one. $250 plus a nice frag or two of zoa or SPS.

Tell us about it, looking forward to hearing a review

It's fantastic. That thing pushes a lot of water and I like the natural flow. I actually have mine down to about 70% and it's perfect. The controler is simple to use. I definately think this type of pump is going to outdate everything else.

That is what I thought when I saw it in action at MACNA, but nice to hear real users thinking the same thing.

Another good thing is it doesn't move my sand. The flow is evenly distributed so even though there is lots of water movement it isn't focused in one area

Craig thanks for giving me a heads up on the product. For the cost I think it's the best way to go. Now we just have to wait and see if there are long term issues with it.

What size tank you have it on? Running any other pumps in conjunction with it?

I have a 150g tall. I don't have any other pumps running. The pump can run in both directions; however, you have to switch one side of the pump with a different blade because the blade can only push water in one direction. So after you change one blade, one side will push water in one direction and the other will only create turbulence; when you switch directions the side creating turbulence would then start pushing water and the other side will only create turbulence. I bought two gyres to have one pump on each side and run at different times. I may still do this but it's probably not necessary.

rhymechizel, you're going to have to write up a full review on this thing! And include pictures and videos. I'm really intrigued by the Maxspect gyre pump.

It's the xf150. The 130 isn't out yet. I'm not sure when it will be available. I try and get some pics and vids soon.

thanks xroads. I think the biggest problem is I live far away. I do make it to iowa city on occasion but I will be out of town next week so it would be a couple weeks before I make it that way.

I'm looking at getting one of these for my 135. do you have yours mounted on the side or back of the tank?

I have mine on the bak of the tank and vertical. The way my tank is set up I like the flow better. I also like that it is hidden but I still have lots of flow
