What is the best way to build a frag rack for a frag tank?

zip ties and egg crate, I just make some feet for the rack to sit an inch off the floor and zip tie them onto the main plate, and put it in.

it is a 24x24 by 12 inchs deep. With a 250w 20k MH. How high should i mount the light above the tank too?

I would mount it 14+" above, that's a hell of a lot of light! You could go to 150's realistically, I mean the water depth is only 12" so you don't really require the penetrating power of a higher watt bulb. I would keep some type of herbivore in there! I got hair algae like mad in my frag tank. I'm getting a pincushion urchin. Already have some foster fish in there....none of them eat algae.

Generally frowned on by the community at large, don't want the tang police on your case! But yeah a small one what the hell? You can always give him to me when he gets too big! lol You've gotta bigger main tank don't you?

Lawnmower bleany, astrea snails, and blue leg hermits for algea control. and a six line or melanarus wrasse in case you get any pests. I also would put in some peppermint shrimp for aptasia control

Lawnmower blenny would be a great choice.  Maybe a hermit crab or two, but I wouldn't go crazy stocking your frag tank.  Remember, each fish/creature you put in there is also going to produce waste......

+1 Fawn...keep in mind also that fish poo = awesome coral food.  As long as you can keep your parameters in check with the bioload and you have the room,  it's OK to put a few fish in your frag tank.  I have a small yellow tang, a lawnmower blenny, two banggai cardinals a bunch of snails, an emerald crab, and a few shrimp in my 40 breeder frag tank.    That in mind, I have a whole lot of frags in there to consume the waste too.

I have a melanarus wrasse and a lawn mower blenny on its way. Will i have any problem with the snails and crabs getting stuck under my frag rack? i have the egg crate about an inch of the bottom.
