Hi everyone,  I have been cycling my tank for a little over a week now.  I got the rock and some water from an established aquarium.  I found some hitchhikers, some shrooms and what I think is a green toadstoal leather.   My question is should I be doing water changes/soft cycle? All of the corals seem to be doing good now.  My ammonia and nitrites are back down to zero, but my nitrates are really high (20-40).
    thanks for any advice

I would do a partial water change 1 x a week until your nitrates are down. Make sure you have some good flow to get any detritus off the rock or take a turkey baster and blow the detritus off the rock as you're doing a water change. Do you have a sump? Skimmer? Bioballs?

I will start doing that, I think my cycle is on the tail end anyway. No sump or bioballs, just a skimmer.
