I heard the room was standing room only!!!!!!

As the person who usually books the speakers, I would like to hear feedback & requests.

Also, how much of an improvement was it having them in a seperate room instead of talking in the same room as the vendors?

No videos this year. I wished we would have, because I would have liked to see John's presentation.
I had to leave before John spoke, but I did attend Mark's presentation. The room was great, nice and quiet, no outside distractions. Very easy to hear everything, and see the powerpoint material. The only little issue I could see was some confusion about where exactly the room was located. Helping out in the registration area we had a lot of people come through and ask where the speaker room was. Not a big deal at all, we just pointed them in the correct direction.

We have had separate rooms now a few times, and IMO it works out better. Keeps the outside distractions and noise to a minimum, I think it also limits the random "come and go" traffic.

I apologize for not filming the speakers. I have filmed every speaker we have had for the last few years and yesterday I just wanted to enjoy myself and not lug a bunch of extra equipment around.

I'm kind of surprised that now everyone has a smartphone with built in camera and microphone no one even recorded the audio at least.

I caught both speakers and they were great. Lots of good interaction with the group. I'm somewhat new to the hobby and I found them really informative.

The speakers were great. seating was nice. Because the speakers were in a separate room you could hear them well and there was no extra light shining in so you could see their presentations clearly. I would listen to them again anytime they both did an excellent job.

I missed the first speaker , just to many corals to look at. I did get to listen to John talk and also had a nice talk with him after. One of the main reasons I go to the fests is to listen to the speakers . No matter how long been in hobby there is always something to learn. I all ready can't wait for next one.

I was SOOOO pleased with the turn out these speakers warranted from our group. I'm glad that our community respects and understands how vital their experience is. I'm SO happy that their talks were packed!

This was my first fest, and I can say that it was great. I am more of a (dare I say) FOWLR guy, but I am planning and setting things up with the option of going reef down the road. Anyway, everyone needs help with algae control, and the discussion/information/stories about the fish was REALLY interesting. At least to me.

The separate rooms seem like the only way to make the sessions enjoyable. Having them out in the room with the vendors seems like it would have been really difficult to hear both the speakers, as well as buying/selling conversations between shoppers and vendors.

All in all, I thought that it was set up great and the speakers were excellent.

Having gone to a few Fests, I always found it distracting, trying to watch/listen to a speaker with all the extra noise/distractions going on. Was really nice having it in a separate room.
