    Meeting – Lighting discussion
    8665 Harbach in Clive
    I would to know two things:
    1. Who is planning on attending this event
    2. Who would like to volunteer some knowledge on this topic. I am not extremely well versed here.

    Cool Chris, I have never had T5's. Can you throw some notes together an I will put them in some slides. Or you cn just send me some slides ... what do you think?

    Here is a tentative Agenda for the Lighting discussion for Thursday. I would like to request some feedback and help on this discussion. I am just not as strong in this area as I should be to do this one alone. I will research but that won't give us the practical.
    Types:
      MH, VHO, PC, T5, NO, LED
    Discussion of measurement of light - Wattage, Lumens, Kelvin and PAR
    Ways to control lighting - Timers and controllers
    Lighting schedule -  How many hours do you light your tank?
    Combination of lighting - Actinics and moonlights
    Cheap bulbs vs. Expensive bulbs
    Bulb and ballast types - Mogul, HQI, Electronic
    ???? That may be enough I guess /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif

    Joel, I have about 2 dozen books I can mail over to you that also give ideas on alot of do it yourself projects that can be done with items from Radio Shack as well as simple household tools. Things like LED panels, simple multi stage timers, etc.
    Not much else I can offer without some hands on teaching.
