I have been battling bubble and some hair algae for the last couple months.  I have tried water change after water change, a bigger CUC, and GFO and carbon, and basically starving my tank and fish but it still kept growing like crazy.  Well today I decided to do some digging and ended up finding 2" of thick brown nasty poo  on the bottom of my refugium as well as under my skimmer.
I am pretty sure this has been "fueling the fire" causing algae to prosper and me to never win the battle.  Now those areas are clean I am hoping the CUC and GFO will take care of the rest.

That's funny cause yesterday I fould a nice pile as well and have been battling an algae attack. Found that my stupid anemone likes hanging out in the back and blocking the flow and causing everything to build up behind my rock scape. Hopefully it will clear somethings up a bit.

Thank You. Now I will know more places to look and clean to prevent the or delay the arrival of algae. Shaun
