I'm running a mak-4 pump on my tank. I'm running the water down to the basement and then back up to the first floor to my DT. I've got just about enough flow, but a bit more would be fine. What I'm after is a quieter pump. I have an Iwaki 30 rlxt, but it's not quite enough flow. My question is, what pump should I get? I'm looking for efficient and quiet and with a bit more power than the Mak-4.

    What would you suggest?

I like the Reeflo pumps...but to determine which one you would need, you need to measure your return line, calculate your head pressure and determine how much flow you want at the tank. Then look at the pump specs and see which one matches what you're looking for. Good luck!

Iwakii's are true & tested. They will go 10 years with no problem

Is the pump itself loud or is it the vibration?  If it's hard plumbed in you could try adding some flex hose in between the pump and the rigid PVC.
Another option would be to build some sort of sound proof housing around the pump to dampen the noise.
Just throwing a couple ideas out there, it might save you a few bucks as you are going to have some noise no matter what brand of pump you buy especially considering the amount of flow and pressure involved.

I have a blueline 70HD and I am doing the same thing. Its about 12 feet of lift. The pump is pretty quite. I built the stand for it with blueboard insulation and now its really quite.
