At our last meeting at AE I picked up a nice piece of rainbow monti.  It was all yellow at the time but seemed to be coloring up.
Since i placed it in my tank parts of it seem to be going white.  I have it placed in the bottom of my tank  with med flow.  Is this normal for montis while they adjust?
    I have 2 150 watt 14k halides.

I have my montis in high light and they seem to be doing great. I have rainbow, superman, and sunset all in the same area very high in my tank under 400 watt bulbs and all are doing great.

ok ill try moving it up....i was trying to keep it low because its a 55 gal tank and i saw they took well to moderate lighting.

I would move it up. I have 4 different encrusting montis and they like light.

What are your Alk/ Mag levels? Encrusting monties seem to show signs of low levels quick. I doubt light has much to do with it at this point

I agree with the params - with light it may change color or turn brown but shouldn't turn white.

I'd check pH as well as Alk & CA.
Are there other sps in your tank and are they okay?
Is there anything nearby that could be irritating it?  I.E. anemones, lps with long sweepers (frogspawn/etc.)?
Could it have been mis-handled (excessive handling) or parts over-exposed to air?
    Pics?

well im home now after a long weekend of soccer.

The monti actually seems to look better, Im thinking/hoping it was just taking some time to adjust to its new home in my tank.
