Elos Test Kits ?

I heard Elos were good, never used them.

We use API at the shop, they are cheap, easy to use and from what I can tell just as accurate as about anything else out there. I used to use Salifert and like them as well.

For magnesium we use Seachem, it's a PITA but seems fairly accurate. I used to use Salifert for Mag years ago, it was easier to use.

For a new tank your gonna need Ammonia and nitrate kits. Once you get things going you will need Alk, Ca, and Mag. I would recommend a Hanna PO4 checker as well.

 

I really like the Elos kits. I have CA and MG. The mg is a little hard to read the instructions. They have a deffinate color change and the bottles don't accedentally drip.

 

I'm a big fan of their Ca checker. The color change is from pink to blue and is obvious. It also is really simple.

The Mg checker is almost the same deal....except it takes a lot of drops, so it is a little less obvious.

I'm a fan of both for sure.
