dwarf lion fish eggs help

    ok this is the 6th time they have laid eggs... My file fish eats them all... Does anybody have a tank that I could bring these to so they could possibly live and rotifers.... I do have a male and a female dwarf lion.... I know that they have never been bred in captivity but there is always a first time for everything right lol im going to try to get another small tank set up for when it happens again cause im sure it will but in the meantime does anybody maybe want to help with the one I have now?

    We need to talk!

    Do you have pictures? Are they laying a gell ball that lasts about a day? Do they guard them like a clownfish does? Which variety do you have?

    Where do you live?

    Interesting.

    I caught (and killed) 27 lionfish last fall in Mexico while diving.

    Good
    They are an invasive species in the Caribean doing a ton of damage.
    They are the full sized Volitins though.
    Did you eat them?  They are supposed to be very very good

    Well I woke up this morning and they were gone /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/sad.gif Im pretty sure the file fish ate them... Every time its been a gel cloud and I can see the eggs in it. Its pretty cool. the first time it happened I didnt know what it was I took a pic into Iowa Pet and tim told me that it was eggs and that the female that I got from there was prob pregnant when I bought her but it has happened 5 more times since then and that was about a year ago... Im in the des moines area.. The next time it happens would it be safe to transport them? If it is I would gladly do so that they could live... Plus since it has never happened in captivity I think it would be awesome to have the first captive bred dwarf lion fish ever lol.

    I just read a couple articles where these dwarf fuzzy fish have actually been bred in captivity. (sorry for being a downer)

    Actually they only stay in the gell ball for 24 hours.  Then the ball breaks up & the eggs hatch.

    Alright well I guess I just have to go to the lfs to see if Tim has rotifers.
