I did a little lighting experiment and I think I am already seeing tremendous results. Or I am just imagining things.
I have been running a strictly AI setup on my tank since I set it up last fall. I love my AI's, but always thought there was a little something lacking on them color wise. This weekend I added a 4x 80W tek T5 light fixture to the mix. I went with ATI bulbs and am currently running True Actininc, Blue Plus, Coral Plus, and Purple Plus. Immediately I noticed that it really brought out some different colors in some of my corals my chalices and a couple acans especially. The acans were pretty pissed off and I haven't seen them puff up for months now. I have moved them around the tank to different lighting with no positive results.
I go down to check out my tank today and can't believe what I am seeing. The acans seem to be doing much better. Not super puffed up like I have seen before, but definitely happier. Plus the colors in them seem really intense. I had one that was pretty much receded down to nothing. There was some very faint coloration on the rock was about it. Now it appears that that one is developing tissue again. And a significant amount in the matter of 2 days under the lights.
Then I look down to a chalice. This guy hadn't really been doing anything for me. No growth, one really small eye on the thing. Color was really blah. Kind of a purple/grey with an orangish eye. I swear it popped another eye under these lights already and looks like a 3rd may be forming. I have what I think is a miami hurricane chalice that also seems to be liking the lights.
Does stuff like this really happen that fast just from a lighting change, or am I crazy? I didn't change the lighting cycle on the AIs. I am still blasting those 100% through mid day. All I did was add the T5s. I turn on the actinic and purple plus while my blues are ramping up. Then turn on the other 2 bulbs for about 5 hours midday when the AIs are at full power. Then again shut off the Actinic and purple while I ramp down in the evening.

The t5's provided the spectrum that the Acans were needing and also the chalice :=0)
