disapointed with all the drama

This isn't a "club" issue. This is a few guys in the club, that have a misunderstanding with eachother. I'm not seeing any drama here in my district, we have great meets, and all of our meet attendees really enjoy each others company. It's ridiculous that John and now you are suggesting otherwise. It's about the contacts you make in the club. There are over 1000 of us! Maybe you need to seek out some new friends in the club if you're not having a good experience. But don't make this about GIRS. We've had incredible opportunities to make contacts in the national community, to purchase new technology, to trade ideas, and usher in new members and hobbyists from all over the state. Spring Fest, MACNA, were enormous hits this year, yeah there was a few hiccups with MACNA before and afterward, but it was HUGE and stressful event. I think John needs to apologize to the club for suggesting that this problem was inherent problem of the society. ITS NOT

 

Hey people.Don't let a few bad eggs wreck the cake. I 'm with most of the people in this club when I say that for the most part it's nice to be able to share, learn and grow in this hobby. I agree that to much crap is going on between others and I don't want to let that interfere with what I like about saltwater. With that being said...CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONE? If not...keep your mouth shut and keep it to yourselves...HAPPY REEFING!

 

ya its pretty sad people got to ack the way they do sad to say i know a few two face people but i dont let them get to me thay know who thay are and got to live with it

Do what I do. Ignore it. Almost anywhere you go you are going to see people butt heads. It's a way of life. Whether you let it get to you or not is completely up to you.

drama? you guys visit any other reef communities? Reef central for an example. hardly has a thread in it that doesnt contain some kind of drama. Our club has such low rate of incident like this it amazes me that when it does happen it gets carried over board. Our forums are not heavily moderated and there is a reason for that, they do not need to be because for the most part this club understands what it is all about, REEFING.

 

I agree all the way!

 

People want GIRS to be positive and we all play an important part in making it that way. For the most part we do a great job so lets keep it up!

Any internet forum with a decent amount of activity is going to have a bit of drama from time to time. It's unavoidable.

Well stated JB....and beyond that, everyone has one and they all stink. That is what makes a community (forum) a community.
