Tonight while unloading MACNA stuff at the store I had a nice lady stop in.  She said she watches this show called "Tanked" over & over & she is interested in a saltwater tank.  Her exact words were "I know it is not as easy as they show it to be on TV, how do I do it right?"

After talking with Brett and watching his interview, this is exactly the reaction they were wanting. people to get interested in the hobby and going to their LFS for the real education.

That is awesome. Brett had mentioned they would add a little more of the actual setup procedures into the show for season two as well. Hopefully that will shut up the whiners.

If all goes right Brett wants the season 2 premier to be them redoing some work at Central Campus that a previous contractor ruined. It would cost the school 60,000+ and they are ready spent 25,000. So that would be great. I spent alot of time with him and he has an educational foundation and has had for many years. Another thing few people know is that his company did Blank Park zoo and many other public aquariums around the country.

That's the thing that you have to remember about the show. Animal Planet is going to show the things that they think the general public will find the most entertaining. Often that's potentially upset rich people with extravagant tanks.

After talking with Brett, you're going to have a hard time convincing me that the show does more harm than good for the hobby.

    I agree JB.
There is still one thing that really drives me crazy about the show though..............why do they sound like they are from New Jersey when they live in Nevada!/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif

HAHA, I kinda figured that they were probably originally from the East Coast area.
