   I have a filterguys 5 stage. The DI is only red at the bottom and the rest is dark. Is this normal? Will it work its way up, or is it broken?

   Yep that looks normal...the red is exhausted and the dark is good. It will work its way up.
   Since you only have 1 DI you will need to watch your product water TDS and when it creeps up 1 or 2 you will need to change the resin.
   
   Down the road a nice upgrade would be a second DI cartridge to keep from ever having anything but 0 TDS product water.

   Mine's 3/4 the way up and the product is still 0. I wouldn't worry about it too much, but definitely keep an eye on your RO out and your DI out.
