What are some really nice, bright corals that really will not break the bank?

Ricordia are colorful and easy. Are you looking for stonies? There are often good deals in the classifieds...

A lot will depend on what you have for a setup. type and flow and lights.

Corals like Zoas, pallys, and acans can come in every imaginable color combination you can dream up. Some cost as little as 5 bucks while others will cost 500

Being new...er to SW i found myself asking the same question, i fond that for the price and being easy, stick with mushrooms, pylops, and GSP. Mushrooms have tons of colors to choose from. and GSP are just neat with alittle current

Maybe I should of said the question differently. Lets say the tank has moderate to high flow, with MH. SPS, LPS, doesn't matter, in your opinion what corals have some of the sharpest color, but are also cheap enough for anyone to buy?

You're in the wrong hobby if you're worried about spending a little money on corals! haha...

But in all seriousness, Craig pointed out some good examples, there's a Frag Swap coming up in March if you can wait that long. There's thousands of corals there anywhere from $5 for two corals or a coral for $1000, you'll leave with a tank full of corals for hardly any money. Many Local Fish Stores have some really nice cheaper corals and can talk with you more on the subject.

to me i think Zoa's are the best bang for the buck. multiply fairly quickly and can tolerate fluctuations in water quality alot better than SPS. you can usually find those frags fairly cheap. I just bought a hand sized colony from Iowa Pet Foods in DM for 60 bucks. it has about 5 different kinds on it and multiple colors
