cleaner shrimp for sale 5$, needs to go soon

    Hi there everyone, first time post here. sorry its for sale post but, i have a cleaner shrimp about 3 to 3.5 inches long and was awsome until i started getting more coral. now he is quite a food thief. would be great for a fish only setup. i am at the point now where i will take him back to the lfs if no sold soon but no big deal........ 5$.

    wish i was closer id take him. I've had bad luck ordering cleaner shrimp so far

    Mine is a food thief to. He waits by my lps at night when he knows it's time to feed them. I have to fight him back with the turkey baister so the coral can consume their meal.

    yeah fishbrain, thats the whole reason im angry with him. my lps are starving. he will even dig in some corals when its not feeding time[​IMG].

    Mine does the same thing...pulls food out of my LPS. But I do what Bill does - I fight him off with the turkey baster. The LPS still get plenty of food, even with the thievery. You just have to be persistent. I'm not sure you should give up on your cleaner too quickly...patience and persistent will prevail.
    But, if you do want to go ahead and get rid of him, you might want to consider a different species of shrimp...assuming you like shrimp in your tank. I also have a Fire Shrimp - they are known to be a little more shy and reclusive than the cleaners. Mine does not steal from anyone or anything. But, he's a cool addition to the tank - still has personality and much more color than the cleaner.
    I don't have any peppermint shrimp, but there are many on this forum who do and love them. They don't seem to be as aggressive with stealing food, from what I've read.

    thank you very much for the info bobsfish. I couldnt take it anymore and he is now in good hands elsewhere. I also had an issue with a peppermint shrimp, so looks like i might try a fire shrimp.

    Anytime buddy. The new frags are great, I hope that bastard shrimp works out good, lol.
