So i am trying to get a HOB filter for my clown.  I have a 112 set up now but i am selling it.  would it work to take the HOB bio wheel and put it in the already cycled and been runing take for a week and not put my clown through a cycle?  sorry that might sound confusing./DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/crazy.gif

i am confused. if you are asking if the bio wheel filter will work. I used one on my first tank but didnt use the wheels because of nitrates.

just use the filter minus the wheels. makes for decent water movement and the filters are good for carbon.biggest issue i had was salt clogging the spray bars

Would putting the filter in my cycled tank make it cycle faster? This might be a stupid question.

You could get the same effect by just taking a couple pieces of live rock from your established tank and seeding your clown tank with it.
