Well, I was told by several of my fellow reefers that the only product that would really fix my break is a product called Weld-on # 16.  It is a cement made specifically for acrylic.    I searched in vain (via phone) and was not able to find it locally or closer than 50 miles but I was able to buy a tube of it on ebay, and paid only $6.50 priority shipping which is cheaper than gas these days.  It was shipped Monday and arrived today.  I glued it and it looks really good. Actually, if you didn't know it had been broken you wouldn't see it at all.  I'm following directions and letting it sit for 24 hours so I'll be able to start it up tomorrow.  It has been a huge learning experience to me on many levels.

Ya, I hear you can glue all sorts of cool acrylic projects with this stuff.
