[IMG] So i have this one big rock that weighs about 35 pounds and its a really awesome looking rock. The problem is for the past 5 or so months it is the only rock in the tank that has been growing green hair algee and apstasias like crazy, and it it just now starting to spread through the tank, And ideas WHY this one rock is doing this? i have had the rock for atleast a year now and it just started all this atleast 4 or 5 months ago and its driving me crazy...[IMG]

Is this a new rock you got? Some theorize that rocks can absorb phosphates and leach them out over time. If this rock was added from a different batch than the rest of your, that could be an explanation. As for the aiptaisia, just consider yourself lucky that is hasn;t yet spread further. I would just take the rock out and nuke it if I were you.

They have started spreading, 2 of them popped up in the middle of my candy cane colony and killed off all the branches surrounding the apstasia, dumb question but how do i go by nuking the rock then recuring it?
