Been doing some tinkering with my new AI Sols over the last week or so.  I've been messing with the "Storm" mode and thought it would be neat if this mode could somehow automatically be triggered in the presence of an on coming storm.
Apparently there used to be AC3 support that used data polling from certain "weather" sites so when you entered in your zipcode it poll these sites.  When a storm was near it would trigger storm mode.
It would be cool if the Apex or even the AI Sols had this feature built in.  Being it doesn't I am going to attempt to build my own using an Arduino microcontroller along with barometric pressure sensor.  Programming should be somewhat simple,  all I would need to do is connect the Arduino to my breakout box.  When the Arduino senses a drop in pressure past a setpoint it would trigger a switch that is "tied" to my storm mode virtual outlet.
I also want thunder playing on my home stereo when the lighting is triggered.  I have NO freekin' idea how that would work but it sure would be neat./DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/tongue.gif

I have an apple computer. I guess what I would do is set up an 'automater' program. You could set your apex to send you an email when it goes in storm mode. Then have automator detect that you received an email from apex, which would initiate another automator command, which would open iTunes, open storm music, play.
