Just found out today that my tang has ich. Does anyone have a good fish trap that I can borrow? I want to put him in the quarantine tank before I leave to go to Kansas city tomorrow. I have been trying with the net for like 3 hours.

I will pay anyone if they come to my house and take the fish out lol. this is the most frustrating thing ever. Decided to call it a night and will try again in the morning...I had so many close calls but it always escapes the net at the last second

Getting it out is the best idea.  Wait a couple of hours after the lights go out.  Turn the room lights on and let the fish slowly start moving around.  See if you can get it when it is not as eager to move as fast.

is this a reef tank ? how much rock work you have or coral do u have ? if its a fish only tank leave it and treat the whole tank if you do move it add garlic to your food will help kill the ick just don't try to put to much stress on the fish trying to catch it might make things worse

Once again, IMO it is better to stress one fish than infect the whole tank.

getting a freshwater fish out is a lot easier than getting out a fish in a reef tank that's full of coral and live rock i have 5 thousand in my 90 gallon and i don't move my fish i treat the set up i don't even own a qt tank i have never lost a fish due to ick some times u cant get the fish out and have to treat the tank

Take a 2 liter cut the top off. cut a hole just big enough for the fish to fit throughin the top then invert the top and stick it back in the body and wala a cheap homemade fish trap
