An Oldie But a Goodie: From ReefKeeping Blog

    This is totally sweet background idea that I'm totally doing on my next tank! It's also a great idea for our friend erayk1 who's 220 has a massive clutter of hideous cords running, but he doesn't want to paint his tank! lol Or for anybody who doesn't want to paint the back of their tank really.     I agree, these would be nice. It's just a box with a blurred image painted on it with a light on the top right??

    Check out the thread, there's a box, a hardboard painted blue background, with a T5 light over it to create and natural fade, a little fancy airbrush work for the far background, and some faux LR in the foreground all blacked out colored with a piece of blue translucent acrylic in front of it. I'd like to have a dimmable T5 for this application, that way you could fade in and out in the morn and evening to make it even cooler!

    I thought about those things long ago...just didn't want to spend the time to make it...maybe when I move! lol

    I was thinking of this article the other day when debating on how to go about a background on the new 75 setup. My mom is an art teacher and my dad works at a lumber yard, so I can get the material for cost and my mom can do the painting...

    I think you just might have talked me into doing this Andy!
