Algae scrubber

Here is a pic of my DIY scrubber. The big lumps are turf algae. Also getting hair and bubble algae a little bit. As per Bud's advice at Fall Fest, I switched to a 2700K spectrum bulb. Also arranged it so light is right up close to get more penetration. The red stuff at bottom left is a macro that I got on LR and threw in for fun. Growing great in the bottom of the bucket. This is 2 weeks of growth and time to clean again.

I have seen a good deal on the swaddling down to 2700K bulbs for alar scrubbers. What's the basis here? Is this specifically for Red and green Turfing algae production?

Typically with regards to spectrum red shifted light, plants will grow long thin and stringy where blue shifted light will make them grow short and dense. Typically with a macro like cheato a bluer light (I use 6700K x 2@960 lumen each) causes super dense and thick algae. So are we pushing the 2.7kK bulbs to extend the growth of the turf across the scrubber? Have you tired a mixed bulb approach with a 2.7kK and a bluer bulb? I bet you could increase production by a factor by cycling in a second bulb for 6-12 hours a day.
