What is everyone's preferred method for killing these little guys? I have a few popping up and want to get a handle on them before they multiply. I had good luck with peppermint shrimp when I had them previously, but the peppermints later died. Don't really want to go that route again.

i mixed Kalkwasser with some of the tank water and inject it into the base of the aiptasia with a hypodermic needle. they shrivel up and die. this works well on the bigger ones and them i bought a peppermint shrimp for the little ones.

I use the kalkwasser method too..only I drop just a spot of the kalk paste onto the mouth area and they shrivel right up and die quick.Just keep checking for the little ones. I don't think ANYONE in the forums have aptasia free systems. seems like there is always a few hiding out.

Kalt paste, interesting. I will try this method. I bought liverock full of aiptasia 6 months ago. To gain experinces additial to my hobby. I was planning to get bergia. Flatworm showed up. I add couple of wassles, (six line, yellow coris) for flatworm. I put 3 small peppermints in. They clean up pretty well but aiptasia will always around. I'm unable get bergia since peppermints and wrasse are predator to bergia. As I read and couple of I know who has bergia did excellent job getting rid of aiptasia.

Berghia Nudibranchs FTW. Once you have an established breeding population in your tank, they are 100% effective.

I take lemon juice (the plastic lemon) and inject about 0.5 to 1.0 mL into the stalk of the beastie with a hypo from Medicap Pharmacy. Works great.

+1 on the peppermint shrimp but they always seem to disappear in my big tank. I think the banded jawfish hunts them down at night, or the brittle stars, or hermits. But they're so cheap, just throw a handful in to keep the small ones down.

I do Kalk past in my biocube. And also used a zapper for a 470 gallon that had alot of them. Spent like 1 hour just doing that. Seems like a long process to get them all. A tank that size very very hard to get them GONE. Its a never ending battle!
