Acrylics Project - 70g FW Sump

    Just wanted to bump this up and say this thing is amazzing. It has been up and running for 2 months now and has exceeded all my expectations so far. You out did yourself on this one I think Bud.

    Looks like some of the flow is bypassing the drip trays, if I ever build another one of these behemoth sumps I would add a small vertical strip along the edge of that top lip to prevent the water from wicking around the tray.

    It does a little but but not much, I was almost going to ask if it would be possible to make a little flange that could jsut slip over the lip of the tray to contain the water but it isn't all that bad.

    You know that stuff that you can "clip" on to the back edge of glass aquarium lids to seal the gap at the back? Just cut one to length and clip it on that top piece above the tray. Those have a flat part on top, and on the side that would rest on the rim of the tank, there is a piece that sticks down. The water would sheet across that and over the edge, and that part that sticks down would stop the water from wicking along the bottom of it. This would also push the water towards the middle of the drip tray. Then you can easily remove it and take the tray out if you need to.

    Great idea hadn't thought of that, I may even have some in the garage somewhere if not the lfs is just down the street.
