Ok so I want to fix/patch the crack in eurobrace for my 75gal Acrlyic tank for my sump going under a 220gl RR. What is the best way to do it? I have #16 acrlyic glue and what is the best way to go about fixing this? I am thinking just glue with the #16 a peice right over the top of the crack. I also need to plug bottom of overflow. There are two holes for bulk heads that need plugged in there. Flat peice glued to the bottom work ok? Any help would be greatfull.

You need to drill a hole at the end of the crack to stop the cracking. After that, see if you can't get some wicking action into the crack itself and then do the additional piece like you were talking and should be solid.

+1 drill a hole to stop the crack, then sandwich the crack with 2 pieces of acrylic. WO16 will do but #3 is really better. You can wick into the crack also but I wouldn't bother.

Holes in bottom of overflows can be sealed with WO16 & acrylic patch or silicone also in this case.

OK, since I use an acrylic tank as a sump, I can chime in here witha couple thoughts based on my experience.

    1. Before reparing, make sure that the openings on the top of the tank are large enough to fit what you need/want to fit in. I had a lot of trouble finding a skimmer that would fit into the 8" holes in my tank. I ended up Dremelling out a section of one opening.

    2. Your sump isn't going to be all the way full, so the water pressure won't be anything like if you were using it as a display, so a repair might not even be necessary.

Just a couple thoughts. Glad to see this coming along!

I would agree only that the repair is not as critical as might be if the tank were full, however, the crack left as is may progress to the joint, and at that point, the repair becomes more problematic.
